Connecting with My Followers: A Scientist's Regret

Video link

Here's my biggest regret. What regret? Here's my biggest regret as a scientist with a pretty large following. And I have a special gift for some of you. I'm Avisha, and I'm a scientist who started this channel way back in early COVID days when it seemed like everyone on the internet and my friends and family, and even government officials were saying all sorts of things that had very little grounding in the actual science. I hate politics. I hate headlines. I hate exaggerated marketing claims. But I love having real conversations with people who genuinely want to improve their lives COVID was just a start, but in the last few years, I've spent literally thousands of hours pouring through medical journals, scientific research papers, trying to figure out actionable tidbits for you guys to apply to your own lives. Trying to either verify or debunk claims made by the various viral videos that you guys send me, or just looking for things to apply to my own life. But my biggest regret is not working harder to forge a direct connection with you guys. My SIE tribe, trademark pending. And now with all this craziness going on, I'm really afraid to lose that connection with so many of you, most of whom will probably never see this video. the nerdy thing and downloaded all of the comments from every single one of my TikTok videos since 2021 to figure out exactly who my top followers have been. Because I'm going to miss you guys, unless we do something about it. I started a Patreon with a free tier where I'll post every time I make a video, as well as articles and fun behind the scenes stuff and various sciencey tricks that I apply to my own life. The lowest paid tier will have access to my Discord and live Q&As, but I'm giving away 12 months of free access to that paid tier to all of my top TikTok commenters, should you desire it. I was going to message each of you with a code, but it seems like to TikTok settings won't let me do that, so instead, this is it. We'll use the honor system here. I don't think any other platform will let me combine science education with fun, quirkiness, in quite the same way. It's been a blast, guys. I'll miss you all. Oh, and there's also a newsletter if you don't like Patreon. Podcast coming soon.
