Let's where you are, I gotta get one little day. Sugar! Let's reverse this process. A cup of white sugar. One tablespoon of molasses. Super nutrient dance, by the way. Now let's stir it around. The more molasses you add in, the darker it'll get. And ta-da. When you buy brown sugar from a store, this is all it is. And molasses is more water-soluble than the sugar, so when you run it underwater, the molasses gets washed away first, leaving the white behind. Or some of it, you waste a bunch of it. Would not recommend.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever had to make your own brown sugar mid-baking! 👋
